And at the time of war for freedom, Lathi was used as most deadly weapon for fighting purpose by many great leader of India. It is also called as Lathi - Khela. Lathi is a one of the most traditional weapon which people are using since past many year for their self-defense from animals and other safari animals. Now a days Lathi becomes a very famous weapon practiced by Martial Artists not only in India but in all over the world. It is originated from India. The Lathi is a long Martial Arts stick fighting. Most bow's typically arranged in 6feet in length and are constructed with hand wood. The Lathi uses thrusting strikes and swinging techniques and includes a vanity of blocks, strikes, sweeps and entrapments.

Lathi is usually made unfinished, hard wood OR a flexible wood. Such as Bans (Bamboo) OR Sagwan (Teak) Tree. More common still is bamboo wood for its flexibility. The modern Lathi may be tapered in that it can be thicker in the center than at the end. And it is usually rounded OR circular. Some Lathi are very tight, strips and a grip which are used for competitions and demonstrations.

The Lathi is an Indian Martial Arts Weapon. The basic of Lathi technique is hand. Techniques are derived from India and other Martial Arts that reached India via trade Indian mans. Thrusting, Swinging and Striking techniques often resemble empty-hand movements. Following the philosophy that the Lathi is merely an extension of one's limbs. Consequently Indian Martial Arts is often incorporated into other styles of empty hand fighting such as Karate. The Lathi is also used as a spear and long sword in some of its motions, such as upward swing and slashing motion across the body as well as extensions by gripping one end and thus increasing its length as thus making it similar to a spear. The Lathi is typically gripped in thirds and when held horizontally in front, the right palm is facing away from the body and the left hand is facing the body enabling the staff to rotate. The power is generated by the back hand pulling the staff while the front hand is used for guidance. Lathi technique in includes a wide variety of block, strikes, sweeps and entrapments.
